US: Federal judge rejects Google plea to dismiss children’s privacy infringement claim
Google will continue to face a legal battle regarding its alleged infringement of children’s privacy laws after a federal judge in New Mexico rejected Google’s plea to dismiss the claim. The state’s attorney general initiated the claim, which is based on Google collecting children’s local and personal data via app games. However, the judge noted that in her prior analysis she ‘incorrectly discounted’ the significance of a provision in federal rules concerning children’s privacy.
