The US government drops its case against Apple
The US Department of Justice (DoJ) has announced that it managed to access the data stored in the phone of one of San Bernardino’s attackers, and, therefore, no longer requires assistance from Apple. In a press release published on 28 March, the DoJ said that, thanks to the ‘assistance of a third party’, it was now able to unlock the iPhone without compromising any information on the phone. The DoJ has also asked the Court to vacate the order compelling Apple to assist in this case.
