US House of Representatives passes IoT Cybersecurity Improvement Act
The US House of Representatives passed unanimously, the Internet of Things (IoT) Cybersecurity Improvement Act. According to the act, all connected devices purchased by the federal government will have to comply with minimum security recommendations as issued by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). The act was introduced in March 2019 simultaneously in the US Senate and the House of Representatives and currently heads to the US Senate for consideration.
