U.S. President Obama addresses risks and benefits of the Internet in State of the Union Address
In the 2016 State of the Union Address, U.S. President Obama has addressed the Internet’s threats and potentials. He spoke about the steps taken by his administration to protect an open Internet, close the digital divide and stimulate entrepreneurship. At the same time, he mentioned the threat posed by the online activities of terrorist organisations, as they would ‘use the Internet to poison the minds of individuals inside our country; they undermine our allies’.
