US: Probe launched on TikTok’s effect on children’s mental health
State attorneys general in the United States have launched a nationwide probe into TikToks effect on the mental health and wellbeing of children. The investigations are being led by the states of California, Florida, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Nebraska, New Jersey, Tennessee and Vermont.
Several U.S. lawmakers and regulators have criticised TikTok, which is a popular platform among teenagers and young kids ,alleging that it can endanger the physical and mental health of young users.
