According to Reuters, a bipartisan group of US senators is working on draft legislation that would give federal judges authority to order technology companies to assist law enforcement agencies in accessing encrypted data. It is said that the proposal does not provide details on conditions under which companies could be order to assist, nor on the modalities for providing such assistance.
