WCD Minister Irani addresses digital safety of children and women on social media
Mrs Smriti Irani, the Minister of Women and Child Development (WCD) of India was addressing the digital safety of all social media users at the Digital Suraksha Summit organised by Meta in New Delhi on 10 April. She said that digital safety must be ensured for users including women and children on all social media platforms.

She said that digital safety must be ensured for users including women and children on all social media platforms. There is an especially growing need to become more conscious of women’s digital safety because their image is being established negatively in the current digital era.
She emphasized that to develop a comprehensive digital safety policy for children, all stakeholders, including parents, academic institutions, and civil societies, should be considered.
