The Wuzhen Initiative calls for sharing the fruits of the Internet development

The Wuzhen Summit concluded and proposed the Wuzhen Initative, which among other issues calls for sharing the fruits of the Internet development. It recognises ” the importance of developing digital economy, promoting deeper convergence between the Internet and other industries, facilitating and protecting free and orderly data flow, accelerating the rise of a globally connected digital market, and creating more employment opportunities.” In this way, the Initiative claims, “the Internet would ensure a strong impetus to efforts to advance the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and empower the healthy and sustainable development of the global economy, taking more countries and their residents onto the speed train of development through the age of Information.”
