Daren Tang nominated as the Director General of World Intellectual Property Organisation
Chief Executive of the Intellectual Property Office of Singapore Daren Tang has won the nomination to become Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO). Tang prevailed in the second and final round of voting with 55 votes while Binying Wang of China received 28 votes. The result is expected to be confirmed by the WIPO’s general assembly.The term of the current Director General Francis Gurry ends on 30 September 2020.
